Dr. Mingdong Li, Ph.D. (China), L.Ac., Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM)
Dr. Li earned his medical degrees from Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1982, and later, at the same university his Ph.D. in the field of Chinese Internal Medicine. He also spent two years studying Tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage) and Orthopedics from Dr. Yu Da-Fang, a renowned professor at the Shanghai University of TCM. Dr. Li completed his residency at an affiliated hospital of Shanghai University of TCM and then served as an attending physician in the Department of Chinese Internal Medicine in the Shanghai Yu Dian Hospital. He was an honorary professor at Heilonggjiang University of TCM.
In 1988, Dr. Li immigrated to the United States, and in 1989, he received his acupuncture license from the California Acupuncture Board. Since receiving his California license Dr. Li has practiced and been on the faculty of many Universities and Boards.He was the Department Chair of Chinese Internal Medicine at Royal University and Associate Dean of SAMRA University. Dr. Li was the Clinic Dean at Dongguk Royal University and served on the Board of Directors of the California Acupuncture Medicine Association.
Dr. Li teaches Chinese Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Tuina, Tai Chi and Qigong at several local universities and practices at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine where he sees many patients and is conducting a clinical study in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis using Chinese Medicine.
Dr. Li has more than 25 years clinical practice and teaching experience in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China and in the United States. He has had success in treating pain syndromes, including headaches, musculo-skeletal pain in the neck, low back, shoulders, elbows, knees etc; internal medical problems such as fatigue, stress, depression, insomnia, gynecological disorders. Dr. Li uses acupuncture, tuina, and herbal medicine. In addition patients may be instructed in Tai Chi or Qi Gong exercises to contribute to their wellbeing.

Janene Mitchell, L.Ac., Dipl. A.C., Dipl. C.H., FABORM
Janene Mitchell is a licensed California acupuncturist and she helps men and women regain balance in their lives by using a combination of acupuncture, massage therapies, herbal and nutritional supplements, essential oils, diet and exercise.
Ms. Mitchell graduated with highest honors from Yo San University with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is a certified Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She went on to complete a year-long program of advanced studies in Master Tung’s system of acupuncture and has also trained in Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture.
Ms. Mitchell began her studies in Shiatsu, Thai massage and Chi Nei Tsang massage therapies in 1993 and is a certified CNT practitioner. In addition, she is a past member of the faculty of Yo San University where she taught Crane Style Qi Gong to students in the Master’s program as well as public community classes.
Ms. Mitchell has a performing arts background with training in classical music, dance and theater. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music in Clarinet Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory and continues to perform locally with the Angel City Chorale.
